A Legacy of Creative Resilience

Dakoro’s artistic journey sprouted early. He began drawing cartoons at age four, and by six, he had cultivated a nuanced eye for detail through observing faces, colors, and rhythm in his surroundings. Raised in Syracuse, New York, his early artistic curiosity was nurtured by supportive parents and family, who encouraged him to trust his instincts, explore non‑traditional techniques, and dig deep into his creative vision  .

In 2015, Dakoro showcased his performance energy and philanthropic spirit at the La Casita Cultural Center Project in Syracuse, where he performed a live painting and auctioned his work to benefit youth organizations. A true testament to his commitment to community and connection  .

He later opened the Dakoro Art Gallery in Georgia, where he encouraged positivity and inspiration through his abstract works and live painting performances, anchoring his artistic presence in the local community  .

In 2024, Dakoro was featured at City Springs’ Gallery at Sandy Springs City Hall for a Black History Month exhibit titled “CONNECT: Youth, Community, Diversity.” He hosted a live art performance emphasizing human connection and community storytelling through abstract expressionism  .

Even amid the global challenges of the COVID‑19 pandemic, Dakoro’s resilience shined brightly. Rather than pause, he launched Draw With Dakoro, a virtual art‑class series that now reaches thousands of adults and children weekly around the globe, teaching them to tap into imagination, value creativity, and use art as a powerful emotional outlet  .
